Abstract
PURPOSE:To efficiently execute pretreatment of a hot metal, by adding CO2 of a proper quantity to oxygen-containing gas to be blasted together with a basic flux to the hot metal, and quickening a phosphorizing reaction, suppressing a decarburizing reaction. CONSTITUTION:A mixture of a flux and oxidizing gas, which are supplied from a flux feeder 7 and a gas flow rate controller 8 is blasted into a hot metal 5 in a ladle 1 through a lance 6 coated with fire-proof paint 11. Also, oxygen is supplied in the vicinity of the master surface from an oxygen gas blast device 12, and generated gas is sucked in through a hood 3. As for the gas for carrying this flux, CO2 is added to O2 so as to be CO2%/O2%=0.1-1. As a result, an ignition point cooling effect by an endothermic reaction of CO2 CO+[O]is increased, and partial pressure of gaseous CO is not lowered, therefore, an effective utilization factor to dephosphorizing reaction is raised. In this way, the effect for quickening the dephosphorizing reaction and suppressing the decarburizing reaction is stabilized.
