Abstract

PURPOSE: To effectively prepare a solid fuel from agricultural waste, by drying coarsely crushed agricultural waste followed by molding by use of water as a binder.
CONSTITUTION: Agricultural waste produced by squeezing or peeling treatment in pretreatment stage (A) is subjected to a coarse, crushing treatment (L) during neutralization with addition of lime (M). Part of the crushed waste is subjected, with addition of activated sludge (T), to solubilization/neutralization treatment (S), aging (U) and methane fermentation (V) in a methane fermentor to obtain methane (W). Most of the crushed waste is supplied to drying stage (O) after compression (N), where it is dried to an extent of the moisture content 0W30% by burning the methane W, ef necessary, it is mixed (P) with water added as a binder to an extent of the moisture content 15±10%, and then molded (Q) to have bulk density ≥1 and packed (R).
