Abstract

PURPOSE: To prepare a solid fuel which does not putrefy and has excellent ignition properties, burning properties, and special combustion properties, by adding a binder to crushed and dried agricultural wastes to mold them and then subjecting them to a waterproofing treatment.
CONSTITUTION: Agricultural products such as tangerines pretreated by peeling of the rind after selection and washing are used for the preparation of juice in the course of BWF or for the preparation of canned goods in the course of GWK. The rind and pericarp produced by the pretreatment (A) are blended with lime (M) to be neutralized and then crushed (L), compressed (N), dried to a moisture content of 0W30%, blended with 0.1W5% binder such as polyvinyl acetate, and molded (Q). The surface of the molded article is heated to be impregnated with a waterproofing agent (R) such as wax and then packaged (S). A part of the raw material after crushing (L) is introduced into a dissolving tank to be dissolved, neutralized (T) and aged (U), and then introduced into a methane fermentation tank to be methane-fermented under an unaerobic atmosphere. The resulting methane gas is used as a heating source for drying (O) and waterproofness-treatment (R) in the preparing process of the solid fuel.
