Abstract
PURPOSE: The reaction of halogenosilane with oxime is conducted in the presence of an organic base containing a tertiary nitrogen to prevent the contamination with water and alcohol in the process of the neutralization and the recovery of by-products, thus producing the titled compound of high quality in high yield.
CONSTITUTION: The reaction between a halogenosilane of Rm 1SiX4-m (R1 is lower alkyl; X is halogen; m is 1W3) and an oxime of formula I (R2, R3 are lower alkyl) is conducted in a hydrocarbon solvent such as benzene or toluene in the presence of an organic base containing a tertiary nitrogen such as pyridine and the by-product, the hydrohalide salt of the organic base, is filtered off. The solvent is distilled off from the filtrate to give the titled compound of formula II. The by-product is neutralized with ammonia gas and the base is recovered for reuse. Since no water is formed in the process, the decomposition of the starting materials and product is prevented and the operation for eliminating water can be omitted.
