PURPOSE:To conform the characteristics of focusing luminous flux to those of image-forming luminous flux by using a prism optical system, which has a surface for further reflecting reflected light and a surface for light emission, for the light splitter of a TTL focusing detector. CONSTITUTION:Luminous flux passed through an image-forming lens 1 enters a prism 3 which has light splitting surface 4, and luminous flux for focusing detection after being reflected by reflecting surfaces 3a and 3b exits and enters a photodetector for detection. The sizes of the reflecting surfaces are specified adequately to vary the range of the luminous flux for detection. Further, the luminous flux is reflected in the prism to shorten optical path length, reducing the size of a camera.
