Abstract
PURPOSE:To make it possible to degas effectively dissolved gas in liquid by forming a supply tube to introduce reference liquid into an optical cell with synthetic resin and installing the supply tube in a closed vessel for degassing that is communicated with and connectd to a pressure reducing device. CONSTITUTION:A differential refractometer consists of reference liquid (a) from which gas should be drawn, degassing device A, differential refractometer B for liquid chromatography, and a recorder C. The degassing device A comprises a supply tube 1 for introducing the reference liquid (a) to the optical cell of the refractometer B and a closed vessel 2 for drawing gas in which the supply tube 1 is placed. This supply tube 1 is made of synthetic resin that can not be corroded by the reference liquid (a) for degassing or does not dissolve into the liquid. The supply tube 1 is placed in the closed vessel 2 for degassing and gas is drawn as liquid passes through the supply tube 1. With this arrangement the reference liquid from which gas has been drawn can be successively introduced directly into the optical cell with resuls of measurement with high reliability.
