Abstract

PURPOSE:To manufacture a hollow synthetic resin molding having a high strength by a method in which a small amount of a resin is injected into an injection mold and then compressed air is blown into the resin being melted to expand the resin into a rubbery balloon form to an extent that it can closely contact with the inner surface of the mold. CONSTITUTION:A cavity mold 11 and a core mold 12 are clamped together, and a molten resin 17 in a lesser amount than the volume of the cavity mold 13 is injected from an injection nozzle 14 into the cavity mold 13 through a gate 14. While the injected resin 17 is melted, the injection nozzle 15 is switched and compressed air is blown through the gate 14 from the injection nozzle 15 into the resin 17, whereupon the melted portion of the resin 17 is expanded to form a space 18 such that enables the resin 17 to closely contact with the inner surface of the cavity 13, and a hollow molding is thus obtained. After curing the molding, the molds are opened and the molding 19 is taken out.
