Abstract

PURPOSE: To dehydrate the water-rich agricultural, aquatic or livestock product, at normal temperature or low temperature, without lowering its qualities, by using a silica gel having large pore volume in combination with a synthetic resin having high water-absorption.
CONSTITUTION: In the dehydration of an agricultural, aquatic or livestock prodcut, e.g. various natural or processed foods, feeds, fertilizers, etc. with a silica gal having an average pore diameter of 70W140Å, a water-adsorbing synthetic resin film such as polyvinyl alcohol resin film is inserted between the agricultural, aquatic or livestock product and the silica gel, and the hydrated silica gel is dried and reused.
