Abstract

PURPOSE:To enhance the workability and the reliability of a rotor by detecting a slip frequency and a pulsating frequency of shaft voltage, comparing them and detecting a malfunction when the pulsating frequency becomes twice the slip frequency, thereby early detecting the malfunction of the rotor. CONSTITUTION:A shaft voltage detecting voltmeter 5 is mounted on the rotational shaft of an induction motor 1, and the pulsating frequency of the shaft voltage is detected by a detector 6 from the output of the voltmeter 5. On the other hand, the output from a tachometer 3 connected to the motor 1 and the output from a power source frequency meter 8 connected to a power source 1a are inputted to an arithmetic unit 4, which thus calculates the slip frequency of the motor 1. Further, the unit 4 compares the pulsating frequency of the shaft voltage with the slip frequency, judges as the production of a crack at the rotor conductor when the pulsating frequency becomes twice the slip frequency, thereby detecting the malfunction.
