Abstract
PURPOSE:To detect the damage of a wire rope by providing a magnetizer and a demagnetizer before and behind a couple of magnetic sensors provided on both the sides of the wire rope which moves axially. CONSTITUTION:For the detection of the defection of a wire rope 2, such as breaking, a flaw, rust, and baking, a wire take-up motor shaft 9 is rotated by turing on a power switch to move the wire rope 2 to be detected, and a DC current is fed to a magnetizer 5 to magnetize the wire rope 2. Then, when the wire rope 2 has a damage part 6, the disorder of magnetism is caused and detected by a couple of magnetic sensors 7; and the presence of the damage place 6 is announced by a speaker 12 thorugh a differential amplifier 8 and the rotation of the shaft of the wire take-up motor 9 is stopped. For the rewinding of the wire rope 2, a rewinding motor shaft 3 is rotated and a demagnetizer 15 performs demagnetization.
