Abstract
PURPOSE:To keep a clearance between a coil and a vessel at zero at all times by pushing the end section of one side of space pieces mutually inclining in the opposite directions by means of a spring. CONSTITUTION:The coil 1 as a superconductor is encased in the vessel 2, the space pieces 7a, 7b are driven between the outer circumference of the coil 1 and the vessel 2, the leaf spring 8 is mounted to the concave section 7c of the end section of the space piece 7b and a cover 2a is set up. When large electromagnetic force works to the coil 1, strong hoop force is transmitted to the vessel 2 through the space pieces 7a, 7b. Since the angles of inclination of the space pieces are made smaller than the angles of friction, the space pieces are not slipped off, and hoop force is positively transmitted to the vessel 2. When the clearance is formed between the outer circumference of the coil 1 and the vessel 2, the space piece 7b is pushed in by the resilient force of the leaf spring 8, and the clearance is removed. Since the space piece 7b is coated 9 with a low frictional material, the resilient force of the leaf spring 9 is expanded by a wedge effect, the coil is fixed at all times by large force, and a stable superconductive condition is kept continually.
