Abstract

PURPOSE:To be able to hold a superconductive coil by retaining the coil through composite material with materials of different coefficients of linear expansion superimposed longitudinally alternatively to always stabilize them against the increased and decreased temperatures due to the repetition of operation. CONSTITUTION:A superconductive coil 2 is supported in close contact at room temperature through a composite material 4 made by longitudinally and alternatively superimposing materials of different coefficiens of linear expansion and a composite material retainer 7 in a coil container 1. The coil is cooled to cryogenic temperature in operation so that the composite material 4 is deformed in wavy shape due to the difference of the coefficients of linear expansion of the materials to cause the distance between the coil 2 and the container 1 to be increased, but the coil 2 may not be separated from the container 1. When the operation is completed and the coil 2 and the container 1 are increased at their temperature, the composite material 4 is returned to its original shape at room temperature. In this manner the coil 3 may be always stably retained against the increased and the decreased temperature due to the repetition of the operation.
