Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the cooling efficiency between an armature and a rotor for an AC generator by forming grooves in a direction of a rotating shaft on the outer periphery of an armature core and communicating the grooves with the space of cooling medium passage formed between the armature and brackets of both sides. CONSTITUTION:Spaces 29 are formed between a stator core 2 and front and rear brackets 3, 4, and are used as cooling air passages. The passages communicate the grooves 27 formed in the same number as the slots and in the same direction as the rotating shaft on the outer periphery of the core 2. Since cooling air can be passed over the outer periphery of the stator core in this manner, the cooling efficiency can be enhanced by reducing the air gap between the armature and the rotor.
