Abstract
PURPOSE: To enable the coal liquefaction with reduced hydrogen consumption, increased liquid yield, and high conversion to gasoline fraction, by blasting powdered coal in hydrogen gas stream under specific conditions at a high temperature to effect the rapid heating and instantaneous reaction, and then continuing the reaction at lower temperature.
CONSTITUTION: Coal is crushed successively with jaw crusher, brown coal mill, ball mill, etc. dried with a vacuum drier after removing coarse particles with a 200 mesh sieve, and blasted to hydrogen stream of 800W1,100°C and 35W 250kg/cm2G pressure to effect the rapid heating and the instantaneous reaction. The temperature of the product is lowered to 570W850°C and the reaction is continued for 1.0W60sec. Coal can be converted to liquefied oil and gas by the hydrocracking. The rate of heating of the coal in the former process is preferably ≥10,000°C/sec, and weight ratio of supplied coal to hydrogen is preferably 10:1W 2:3.
