Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain the titled copolymer, having a high dielectric constant, rich in adhesive property and processability, and usable for dielectric materials, adhesives, etc., by cynaoethylating an ethylene-vinyl alcoholic copolymer.
CONSTITUTION: 10% or more, preferably 30% or more, OH groups in the vinyl alcoholic part in ethylene-vinyl alcoholic copolymer, usually a high polymer, prepared by copolymerizing vinyl acetate with ethylene, and saponifying the resultant copolymer, and having an average polymerization degree of 500W100,000, preferably with an ethylenic content of 10W70mol% and a saponification degree ≥80%, are cyanoethylated to give the aimed copolymer. The resultant copolymer is dissolved in a polar solvent, e.g. acetone, to give an adhesive, or a metal, glass, etc. are easily bonded therewith at room temperature for use as a dielectric material.
USE: Binders or adhesives for electroluminescence, films for capacitors, etc.
