Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a laminate having excellent dew condensation resistance and gas barrier property, by coating the surface of a thermoplastic resin film or sheet with an ethylene/vinyl alcohol copolymer resin containing a nonionic surfactant.
CONSTITUTION: The surface of a thermoplastic resin film or sheet is coated with an ethylene/vinyl alcohol copolymer resin, ethylene content 25W60mol%, saponi- ficaton degree ≥96%, containing 0.1W3wt% nonionic surfactant, HLB 4W16(the copolymer resin is used preferably in the form of a solvent solution). When the ethyleme content exceeds 60mol%, the has barrier property is lost and when the ethylene content is lower than 25mol%, its higher vinyl alcohol content causes poor water resistance and a decrease in gas barrier property at high humidity. Moreover, when the saponification degree of the copolymer is below 96%, the water resistance and gas barrier property of films and the so-called "nerve" of films are lowered, and the films have an acetic odor. Accordingly, such a saponification degree is not preferred.
