Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent the degradationin working environments owing to the scattering of a mold releasing material and to improve working efficiency by manufacturing casting dies in a die casting device of porous sintered metal and supplying the mold parting material to the cavity surfaces of the casting dies through the fine pores thereof. CONSTITUTION:In the stage of producing thin-walled castings by a die casting method, casting dies 14 for forming cavities 18 for casting are made of porous sintered metal and are mounted to a pair of matrices 10 facing each other respectively. Mold parting material wells 16 are provided between the matrices 10 and the dies 14, and are connected to a mold releasing mateial tank 30 with pipes 32. In the stage of casting, a pair of the matrices 10 are firmly combined with die clamping devices, after which the mold parting material in the tank 30 is pressurized by the compressed air through a piping 36 t ooze the mold releasing material in the wells 16 to the inside surfaces of the dies 14 through the fine pores of the dies 14. Next, molten metal is charged into the cavities 18, and after a prescribed time, the casting is removed. Since the mold releasing material is not sprayed but is oozed automatically by the pressure, the working efficiency is improved and the degradation in the working environments owing to the scattering of the mold releasing material is obviated.
