CONSTITUTION:A plate material is punched to obtain a plate body 32 having large and small through holes 28 and 30, and this plate body 32 is subjected to the contracting work to obtain a work 42 having a shape like a shallow vessel. By this contracting work, a wall part 44 in the outside circumferential side, a flange part 46, and a recess part 48 in the center are formed. Circumferential parts of holes 28 and 30 are subjected to the barring work and are bent in the same direction as the wall part 44 to form holes 38 and 40 for bearing. Two works 42 obtained in this manner are matched to each other so that concaves are inside, and flange parts 46 are welded, and cylindrical members 24 and 26 are press-fitted to holes 38 and 40 and are spot-welded to works 42. Parts 50 indicated by dotted lines of recess parts 48 are spot-welded, thus obtaining a connecting rod consisting of a large end part 10, a small end part 12, and a connection part 14.
