Abstract
PURPOSE:To produce a heat-treated steel plate of high flatness in the stage of heat-treating the steel plate by leveling the steel plate coming out from a heating furnace for heat treatment with a flattening machine then cooling the same with a cooler. CONSTITUTION:In the stage of subjecting a steel plate 3 to heat-treatments of heating and cooling, the plate 3 is heated to intended temp. in a heating furnace 1 for heat treatment, after which the flatness of the heated steel plate is leveled with a roll type flattening machine 7. The flattened plate 3 is put in a cooler 2, where its top and bottom surfaces are cooled simultaneously by the cooling water sprayed from cooling water nozzles 4. Since the plate 3 is flattened, no differences in the cooling effects of the cooling water owing to the presence of recesses and projecting parts are produced, and the steel plate is uniformly cooled. While it maintains the flatness, it is cooled and comes out from the cooler 2.
