PURPOSE:To detect surely the fault of a circuit for generation of a polling signal, by adding a fault detecting circuit to a supervisory system to detect whether the polling signal of a remote supervisory master station is outputted or not. CONSTITUTION:A remove supervisory master station P' of the remote supervisory system is provided with a polling generating circuit Q' which generates the first - the (1+n)th polling signals, and polling signals from the circuit Q' are detected in respective polling detecting circuits R of remote supervisory slave stations 1-n and are returned to a supervisory data receiving circuit T of the master station P' through supervisory data output circuits S. The master station P' of this system is provided with a fault detecting circuit D consisting of a polling detecting circuit U, a timer circuit V, and an alarm display circuit W. Polling signals generated from the circuit Q' are detected in the circuit U, and a reset signal is outputted from the circuit U to the circuit V; and if the reset signal is not inputted after a constant period, the circuit V outputs an alarm signal to the display circuit W, thus detecting surely the fault of the circuit Q'.
