Abstract

PURPOSE:To detect the inoperative state, by periodically sampling and comparing data indicating the increment from an operation monitor counter provided on a common memory in common to each computer, in a composite microcomputer. CONSTITUTION:Microcomputers 11, 12...1n increment operation monitor counters C1, C2...Cn on a common memory 3 with a specified period, the computer 11 samples the value of the counters C2, C3...Cn other than the counter C1 corresponding to the computer 11 in a period longer than the maximum period of the incremental period, and the incremented count value is compared for a new data area ND and an old data area OD at all times. If the difference is a prescribed number or more, it shows that the computer is normally operated. If the count value of the operation monitor counter of a computer is never counted from the preceding value, it shows that the computer is inoperative.
