Abstract
PURPOSE:To make load connected to a generator consume electric power proportional to the third power of the rotational speed by taking out signal proportional to square root of the rotation speed of a rotary machine and control the field current of the generator connected to the rotary machine with this signal. CONSTITUTION:Voltage is added to a DC motor 1, and a motor 1 is rotated with a DC generator 4, which is connected with a power shaft 1A, at the speed of Nx. A function generator 7 receives the signal from a rotary generator 6 and generates signals proportional to square root of Nx. The signal is added to the field current controlling system, resulting to generate voltage proportional to 3/2 power of Nx to the DC generator 4, and the electric power proportional to third power of the revolution is consumed by resistance 5. By this arrangement, accurate and simple test of rotary prime mover to drive machines under practical load condition proportional to third power of the revolution, without employing actual load such as a screw or a fan, etc., can be performed.
