Abstract
PURPOSE:To increase, when required, the maximum amount of fuel injection, by arranging an electromagnetic apparatus capable of changing the position of a stopper of a control rack for controlling the amount of fuel injection. CONSTITUTION:The stopper 3 for restricting the maximum amount of fuel injection is mounted at the left end of the control rack of a fuel injection pump 1. When a starting switch 7 is actuated, the stopper 3 is moved to the left maximum position by the electromagnetic apparatus 4, so that the rack 2 can be moved from its original position to the left to increase the maximum amount of fuel injection. When the stopper 3 is at the maximum position, and the rotational speed detected by a sensor 6 reaches a high speed that exceeds a certain value, the control circuit 5 drives the electromagnetic apparatus 4 to cause the stopper 3 to return to the left original position. Thus, when required, the maximum amount of fuel injection can be increased to improve the starting characteristics.
