Abstract
PURPOSE: To reduce the weight and size of a compressor by sending an electric current to each electromagnet in such a manner as attractive force and repulsive force are produced alternately between each electromagnet of an electromagnet driven compressor so that a reciprocating motion is given directly to pistons.
CONSTITUTION: An electric current is sent to each electomagnet 12W18 in such a manner as the direction of current flowing between two adjoining elctromagnets repeats phase and antiphase alternately at a time interval. Namely, electric current in the fixed direction is always sent to electromagnets 13 15, 17, while electric current with alternations of positive and netative at a time interval is sent to electromagnets 12, 14, 16, 18. As a result, attractive force and repulsive force are generated alternately between each magnet 12W18. Since electromagnets 12W18 then make reciprocating motion maintaining an equal interval to each other owing to a link mechanism 21, they cause further reciprocating motion of pistons 5 and 5a, cylinders 6 and 6a through connecting rods 19 and 20, resulting in compression of gas in the space between the cylinder 6a and the piston 5a as well as the space between the cylinder 6 and the piston 5.
