Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce noise by suitably disposing a sound absorber, thereby improving the soundproofing effect with a simple structure. CONSTITUTION:A tank 1 used for a transformer is composed by securing a reinforcing material such as a plurality of reinforcing stays 3 to a side plate 2 and onto the plate 2. A transformer body 6 which is made of a core 4 and a coil 5 wound on the core 4 is contained in the tank 1, and an insulating oil 7 is filled therein. A sound shielding plate 9 for preventing the noise caused by a vibration transmitted to the tank 1 from the body 6 is mounted between the stays 3 as the structural material on the outer surface of the tank 1. A sound absorber 11 such as glass fiber is disposed in a sound shielding space 10 surrounded by the side plates 1 of the tank 1, the plate 9 and the stays 3. The absorber 11 is disposed only on the peripheral side surfaces of the srays 3 to surround the space 10, and the remaining surfaces are used as sound shielding space.
