Abstract

PURPOSE:To perform the magnetization of a magnetic substance, which is installed inside or outside the neck of a color Braun tube, irrespective of variations of the magnetic substance by magnetizing the magnetic substance to a given value by demagnetizing the magnetic substance according to convergence and purity information obtained from the picture after the magnetic substance is saturated. CONSTITUTION:A magnetic substnace is installed inside or outside the neck of an uncontrolled Braun color tube 1, which is inserted into a multipolar coil 32. The convergence and purity of the tube 1 are measured with a signal generating source 35 and detectors 38a, 38b and 39. Next, a current is fed from a magnetization power source 36 to the multipolar coil 32 according to the discharge command of an operation control device 37 so as to make the magnetic substnace to be magnetized to a point of saturation. After that, the convergence and purity of the tube 1 are measured again, and the magnetic substance is demagnetized with the coil 32 after a demagnetizing current is computed with the device 35 according to the difference between the measured values of the convergence and purity of the former and the latter measurements. Then, the magnetic substance is magnetized to a given value by repeatedly carrying out the above measurement and demagnetization. Consequently, the magnetization can be performed irrespective of any variation of the magnetic substance.
