Abstract
PURPOSE:To eliminate influence upon a magnetic metal and to improve wear resistance and corrosion resistance, by adding an organic corrosion inhibitor to a protective film by dipping a magnetic storage body in a solution of the organic corrosion inhibitor. CONSTITUTION:A base plate 1 is plated with nickel-phosphorus alloy as a base material 2, and the surface of this base material 2 is polished mechanically into a specular surface having <=0.03mum maximum surface roughness. On the specularly polished surface of the base material 2, cobalt-phosphorus alloy is provided as a metallic magnetic medium 3 by plating, and this metallic magnetic medium 3 is coated with a protective film 4 containing an organic corrosion inhibitor by being dipped in a solution of the organic corrosion inhibitor.
