Abstract

PURPOSE:To suppress the generation of a high voltage for a quick current fluctuation in the conduction time of a phase control circuit when the secondary side of a saturable element such as a saturable transformer is opened even for a phase control current having a wide conduction section and to make the device small-sized. CONSTITUTION:The conduction angle of a phase control circuit 15 is controlled to control the load current for the fluctuation of an input voltage or a load quantity. When the phase control circuit 15 is conductive, a voltage having a phase opposite to that of the voltage in the pause section of the phase control circuit 15 is induced between points A nd B of a primary winding 13 of a transformer 12, and the energy of leakage inductance components of the transformer 12 is changed even in the conduction section of the phase control circuit 15. Consequently, a saturable insulating transformer is saturated by a by-passed current even if the conduction section of the control circuit 15 becomes wider, and the generation of a high voltage for a quick current fluctuation at the conduction time of the phase control circuit 15. An inductance for flowing the by-passed current is made into one body together with an output transformer to make the device small-size.
