Abstract
PURPOSE:To enhance power transmission efficiency by selecting the characteristic impedance of a choke coil and a resonating capacitor and the conducting time of a switching element within a specified range. CONSTITUTION:A choke coil 2 and a transistor 3 and the like, to which a resonating capacitor 6 is connected in parallel, are connected to a DC power supply 1. Switching pulses are given from a pulse generator 5, and the voltage generated in a choke coil 2 is rectified and supplied to a load 11. The characteristic impedance of the inductance L of the choke coil 2 and the capacitance C of the resonating capacitor 6 is selected within a range of 10-300. The ratio of the output voltage to the input voltage is determined so that it lies within 1-3. The ratio of the period and the conducting time of the transistor 3 and the like is selected within the range of 0.2-0.5. Since the voltage and current at the time the transistor 3 is turned on or off becomes almost zero, extremely high efficiency can be obtained.
