Abstract
PURPOSE:To form a chromatography column easily with a material easy to process, other than quartz, by forming an inactive metal oxide film on the inner wall of the tube of the column and by applying liquid-phase coating on the inner surface of the film or filling up the inside of the tube with a filler. CONSTITUTION:A capillary tube 3 is prepared by a method wherein a tube 2 is formed of a material, such as stainless steel and soda-lime glass, which is easy to process, the inner surface of the tube 2 is coated with silicon compound solution injected therein under pressure and is treated by drying and heating and thereby an SiO2 film 3 is formed thereon. Otherwise, it is prepared by forming a film 3 of an inactive metal oxide such as SiO2 and TiO2 by a chemical evaporation method or the like. Next, a tube 1 for a column is prepared by applying liquid-phase 13 coating on the inner surface of the film 3 or by filling up the inside thereof with a filler 11. When the tube 2 is made of glass, a polyimide resin layer is formed on the outer wall of the tube 2 for reinforcement thereof. In this way, a column having no adverse effect on a sample in the same way as a quartz column is obtained with ease.
