Abstract

PURPOSE:To enhance sealing performance by providing a sealing ring, at its contact surface, with a stretched concave, where the longwise direction is inclined backward seen in the radial direction of the contact surface with regard to the relative rotational direction of the contact surface. CONSTITUTION:A concave 6 is formed in the contact surface 5a of a follower ring 5. This concave 6 has a minimum width a of 30-100mu and a maximum width b of 60-500mu and the b/a shall be two or more, and the direction of stretching is inclined backward seen in th radial direction C-C' of the contact surface 5a, toward the D side, with respect to the rotational direction B of the contact surface 5a.
