Abstract

PURPOSE:To monitor a storage battery properly capable of confirming the capacity of a battery, specific gravity of electrolytic liquid and the voltage of a battery at a glance by dividing the indicating section into two indicating ranges to separate unloaded and loaded time of the battery through a magnified scale provided on the voltmeter. CONSTITUTION:A series circuit of voltage division resistances 5 and 6 and a constant voltage element 4 is connected to a battery 1. A voltmeter 7 is connected across the resistance 5 while employing a magnified scale. An indicating section 8 of the voltmeter 7 is provided with upper and lower indication ranges 9 and 10. The indication range 9 is used when the battery 1 is unloaded, any load 2 is not applied on the battery 1, where the specificgravity of an electrolytic liquid and the capacity of a battery are indicated by numerals and colors. The indication range 10 is used when the battery 1 is loaded, namely, a load 2 is applied on the battery 1, where the voltage of a battery is indicated by numerals and colors. This allows the identification of the capacity of the battery, the specific gravity of the electrolytic liquid and the voltage of a battery during the discharge enabling proper monitoring of the battery.
