Abstract
PURPOSE:To increase transmission characteristics, by converting a transmission signal into an elecric signal with a repeater, and transmitting it with conversion into an optical signal again after amplification. CONSTITUTION:When a transmission signal waveform is inputted from a fiber A of an input side multi-mode fiber 6, the said input signal is converted into an electric signal and amplified with a photodetector at a photoelectic converter 21 in a repeater 2. After the amplified electric signal is converted into an optical signal with a light emitting element at an electrooptic converter 22, and the signal is transmitted to a single mode waveguide line 11 having a large transmission rate formed with diffusion on a photoelectric crystal substrate 1 with small transmission rate. On the other hand, a signal detection circuit 4 detects the input of transmission signals with a header signal 8 and controls a matrix optic switch 12 via a switch controlling circuit 5 according to the instruction of an output side fiber 7 transmitted with an address signal 9 and transmits a video signal 10 to the designated output side fiber.
