CONSTITUTION:An oscillator 1 whose oscillation frequencies are different is incorporated in each amplifier of a CATV system, and a clock pulse A oscillated by each oscillator 1 is inputted to a frequency divider 2. To a reset terminal 3 of the frequency divider 2, a pilot signal from a head end 4 is inputted. To an AND circuit 6, the divided output and the clock pulse A are inputted, therefore, its output becomes an intermittent signal when reset is released. According to such a constitution, in case when the amplifier is normal and the pilot signal is normal, a monitoring signal is continued, and when the pilot signal is not outputted normally, the monitoring signal is intermitted. Accordingly, the fact that the amplifier is abnormal or that of the electric power supply is abnormal is discriminated and decided.
