Abstract

PURPOSE:To reliably detect an elastic angle of a material, by a method wherein, in a screen back index test, a cam, which has an elastic restoration trace curve of a material at a curved surface thereof and is turned and guided through contacting of an angle detector, is mounted. CONSTITUTION:A sample-piece feeder 8 consists of a feed stand 9, whereon a sample piece 1 is placed, a device 10 for taking out the sample pieces one by one, and a sample-piece conveying device 11. The sample piece 1 is conveyed by a conveying roller 12, and after a plate thickness measuring device 13 measures a plate thickness, the sample piece 1 is clamped to a clamping device 15. With a cylinder 17 operated, the sample piece 1 is bent by a roller 2 and a bending roller 3. If the bending roller 3 is returned to an initial position, the sample piece 1 is restored to the original through the elasticity. With a rotary encoder 19 turned, an angle detector 28 of a restoration angle detector 23 is brought into contact with the sample piece 1 so restored through the medium of a restoration angle detecting arm 22 to measure the turning angle of the encoder 19, and this detects an elastic restoration angle.
