Abstract
PURPOSE: To automatically control the tool edge position, by directly measuring, in non-contact status, the amount of rotation of a tool to be corrected, converting said amount into a number of pulse and comparing this number with the target value assigned as an amount of correction.
CONSTITUTION: Nut runner body 36 is allowed to descend toward the tool housing hole 61 of quill 13 and set to stop where a gap is provided between tool holder 62 and the top face of sensor shaft 40. A synchronous motor 37 is energized and magnetic flux of magnetic circuits 58, 68 are periodically varied by means of recesses 36a, 51a, and projections 36b, 51b respectively facing recesses 52a, 40a, and projections 52b, 40b of rotor 52 and sensor shaft 40. The stepping motor 38 is driven by correction signals, adjusting ring 51 is rotated via nut run shaft 48, then correcting operation is provided due to a phase shift between magnetic circuit 58 and magnetic circuit 68. Thus, the tool powition can be detected under non-contact status and also the amount of rotation of tool fixing nut can be directly measured.
