Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve precision by arranging a transparent plate provided with correction parts, projected at four corners of a screen, between a body to be measured and a TV camera, counting and correcting the width of each correction pattern, and thus correcting the position size of each part of the screen. CONSTITUTION:A TV camera 10 picks up an image of a body 1 to be measured through a transparent plate 6 to project correction patterns on a screen. Then, line intervals l1-l4 of the correction patterns at four corners are counted by sampling pulses. When the number of counted pulses of the line intervals l1-l4 are n1-n4, the corrected values of respective correction pattern areas are N/n1, N/n2, N/n3, and N/n4 (where N is the number of pulses corresponding to the line interval). For this purpose, values obtained by actual measurement on the screen are multiplied by those corrected values to find correct positions. This position recognition device, even when the linearity of an image pickup tube is uneven, recognizes the positions of respective parts accurately even by the distortion of magnification without reference to the distortion of magnification due to initial drift.
