Abstract

PURPOSE: To separate Sb in the electrolytic liquid selectively and easily with a high yield, by contacting the copper electrolytic solution to activated carbon.
CONSTITUTION: Only Sb in the liquid is separated by contacting the copper electrolytic liquid to commercial activated carbon. Particularly, amount of Sb is large as the impurity in an anode and Sb alone attains the control limit of the concentration in the electrolytic solution, the method can be conveniently applied. The electrolytic solution from which Sb is removed by the activated carbon treatment can be sent properly to the de-coppering electrolytic process or copper electrolytic process. Meanwhile the used activated carbon is either re generated by the treatment with hydrochloric acid or sodium hydroxide, or Sb is recovered as the solution or the oxide by combustion after drying.
