The target counter circuit 3 sends indication signals for generating automatic acquisition areas of respective moving objects to a gate generating circuit 4 in accordance with the number of moving objects obtained during one scanning. Acquisition tracking areas are narrowed when the number of moving objects acquired in a unit time is large, and acquisition tracking areas are extended when this number is small. Thus, a processing corresponding to conditions of peripheral sea areas is possible.
