PURPOSE:To arrange so that any collision may be prevented by using a transmission pulse width as a marker for a specific distance, identify to find whether a reception pulse exists between transmission pulses and detect the existence of an object within a specific distance range. CONSTITUTION:A microwave generated by a generator 1 is pulse-modulated into a pulse signal by means of a variable pulse generator 2 and then is transmitted as a pulse signal. This pulse signal is irradiated from an antenna 4 through a circulator 3 and is reflected on an object 7 existing ahead. After this process, it enters the antenna 4 again, finding its way into a receiver 5 through the intermediary of the circulator 3. At the receiver 5, the pulse signal which is not propagated in the direction of the antenna 4 and part of transmission pulse signal which leaks from the circulator 3 directly enter. Next, an identification circuit 6 identifies the existence of a transmission pulse signal which leaks and directly comes in during a fixed period of time and a reflection signal which is reflected on an object 7.
