Abstract
PURPOSE: To bend a metallic sheet on the same plane as its surface into a prescribed radius of curvature, by forming a rolled part in the metallic sheet in the direction vertical to its lengthwise direction so as to give a rolling reduction changed from one side edge to another side edge.
CONSTITUTION: A rolled part 7 is formed in a metallic sheet 6 in a direction nearly vertical to its longitude so as to give a rolling reduction reguarly changed from one side edge A to another side edge B. Hereby, the elongation of the metallic sheet 6 regularly changes correspondingly to the given rolling reduction, so that an arcing part 8 having a radius of curvature centering at a point O is formed in the metallic sheet 6. According to the present method, the bending work for bending a metallic sheet 6 into a doughnut shape or bending a prescribed part into an arc is easily practiced.
