Abstract

PURPOSE:To make uniform cooling always regardless of change of plate thickness by moving a header vertically and thereby making the distance between a hot rolled steel plate and the header constant. CONSTITUTION:The position of a header 4 is moved vertically according to the thickness (h) of a hot rolled steel plate 1 so that the distance between the surface of the hot rolled steel plate 1 becomes constant. Then, vertical distance H1-h between the header and the upper surface of the hot rolled steel plate 1 becomes constant and the spray pattern of the upper and lower surface is overlapped doubly. Consequently, unequal cooling is eliminated and no built up of the hot rolled steel plate occurs.
