Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide a titanium clad steel which is so formed as to provide high adhesive strength even after the heat treatment at high temp. or the like by providing two layers of intermediate adhesion mediating layer consisting of specific metals between a titanium material and a steel base material. CONSTITUTION:Zirconium or tantalum as the 1st layer intermediate adhesion mediating material 2 and copper or copper-nickel alloy as the 2nd intermediate adhesion mediating material 3 are provided between a cladding 1 consisting of titanium or titanium alloy and a base material 4 consisting of iron or steel material. By such constitution, high adhesive strength and bending workability are provided even after the rolling or the heat treatment after the rolling, and it is possible to roll this steel by heating a number of times.
