Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide step feed of works on two horizontal troughs without any vertical motion, by reciprocating both troughs with slow advances and quick retreats selectively. CONSTITUTION:When a conveyer is geared to a low speed mechanism (L), a driving shaft 13 rotates through pulleys 18, 20 and a one-way clutch 19 to drive interlocking bodies 4, 4 in the same direction at a low speed. A position monitor actuates a detector, which in turn excites a solenoid clutch 14 to gear the system to a high speed driving mechanism (H). The driving shaft 13 then drives both bodies 4, 4 at a high speed through pulleys 11, 15 and solenoid clutch 14. As the position monitor controls another detector for turning off the solenoid clutch 14, the driving shaft 13 is again engaged with the low gear (L).
