Abstract

PURPOSE:To elevate or lower freely the forward part of a trailer, by providing a piston engine to connecting sections of a chassis frame of the trailer and the tractor, and elevating or lowering said chassis by extending or contracting the piston engine. CONSTITUTION:The lifting apparatus 3 includes posts 5 standing up at the forward end of the chassis frame 4 of the trailer 2, brackets 8 extending upward at the rear end of the chassis 7 of the tractor 1 and the piston engine 9 extending between the upper ends of the posts 5 and the brackets 8. Said brackets 8 and frames 6 extending forward from the chassis frame 4 are rotatable connected. When the piston engine 6 is extended or contracted, the forward end of the chassis frame 4 is elevated or lowered as shown in the chain lines in the figure.
