Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve the responsiveness and the efficiency of a synchronous motor by setting the d-axis component of the armature current of a synchronous motor so that all are q-axis component, and determining the magnitude to have a special relation. CONSTITUTION:The signal of an axial position detector 4 which is integral with a synchronous motor 3 is converted by a speed signal generator 5 into a rotating speed signal, and the difference of the signal from a command signal is obtained by an adder 6. The difference is then applied to a frequency signal generator 7, the output and signals of a memory 8 which stores various characteristic values of the motor 3 and a signal of a vector synthesizer 10 are inputted to a q-axis current calculator 9, which calculates q-axis reactance Xq, and the q-axis current which satisfies (Vsindelta)/Xq, where V represents the power source voltage, and delta represents the internal phase angle obtained by the vector synthesizer 10, thereby controlling the motor 3. Accordingly, the d-axis component of the armature current is set to zero, thereby practically maximizing the power of the motor and controlling it.
