Abstract
PURPOSE:To increase durability, by providing a cured coating film of a cation polymerizable paint which cures through the irradiation of energy rays on the surface of an optical disc having a fine construction and information tracks readable optically. CONSTITUTION:Information tracks with a fine construction are formed on a transparent plate such as polyvinyl chloride resin, a reflecting surface is formed through metallized film processing for the manufacture of an optical disc. A cation polymerizable paint which includes a resin such as an epoxy resin, and a photopolymerization intiating agent and is cured with the irradiation of energy rays, is coated on one side or both sides of an optical disc, curing is made through the irradiation of the energy rays and a protective layer is formed for the objective optical disc. As a resin used for the paint, an epoxy resin which includes 10-95% epoxy resin having epoxy group on an alicyclic ring, is used preferably.
