Abstract

PURPOSE:To increase the amount of write/read data per unit time, by providing an amplifying circuit and a modulation and demodulation circuit at each a plurality of heads or per head. CONSTITUTION:A magnetic disc controller (DKC-I)29 receives a command and start information from a CPU2, a magnetic head positioning information is transmitted to a linear motor driving circuit 12 with a signal line network 19 to drive a linear motor 8 and to shift magnetic heads 6 and 7 toward the arrow (b) or (c) to be stopped at a designated position by a magnetic disc 3. Next, the DKC-I29 transmits a read command to an amplifying circuit 26 and a modulation and demodulation circuit 28 through signal line networks 33 and 37 and a write command to an amplifying circuit 25 and a modulation and demodulation circuit 27 through signal line networks 32 and 36. Thus, the reading operation by the magnetic head 6 and the writing operation by the head 7 are performed in parallel. Thus, the amount of read/write data per unit time can be increased.
