Abstract
PURPOSE:To perform good recording and reproducing by fixing data heads used for writing or reading out of data and servo heads used for locating in the specific positions on the same heas slider surface. CONSTITUTION:On a head slider surface 18, data heads and servo heads are fixed to a slider 17 in such a manner than the data heads D1-D8 and data tracks TN1- TN8 oppose accurately, and that the servo head S opposes corectly to the intermediate of the servo tracks STH1 and STH2. A carriage 16 is so controlled that both signals from the servo tracks STH1 and STH2 become equal, and the entire part of the head assembly including the selected data heads is located in track-following mode. As a result, this magnetic disc memory device assumes a precision locating state, by which locating errors are made slight and good recording and reproducing is accomplished.
