Abstract

PURPOSE:To measure the moisture content in waste gas introduced into an electric precipitator directly and continuously, by measuring the concentration of oxygen in wet waste gas and dry waste gas and calculating the moisture content by a prescribed calculation formula. CONSTITUTION:The concentration of oxygen in wet waste gas is found by a zirconia type oxygen densimeter 2 of a flue 1 and an output signal is inputted into an arithmetic device 3. Besides, a sampling tube 5 is attached on the flue 1 and wet gas is sucked by a suction pump 5 and is made to dry gas by removing dust or mist through a primary filter 6, a drain trap 7 and a secondary filter 8. Further, the concentration of oxygen in dry gas is measured by a magnetic type oxygen densimeter 10 and the measured value is inputted into the arithmetic device 3. Water content is measured by the following formula; moisture %=(1- wet waste gas oxygen concentration / dry waste gas oxygen concentration)X100 in the operator 3. Hereby, the moisture in the waste gas is measured directly and continuously.
